Job description
Role overview
RS is looking for an experienced, driven Key Account Manager to join its sales organization. This position covers the Stevenage, Hitchin, Letchworth, Royston, Sudbury, and Colchester area and is based on a hybrid working pattern that combines field visits, time at customer locations or company offices, and remote working.
The role offers the chance to work with a diverse customer base across multiple industries while being supported with training, guidance, and progression opportunities. It suits someone who wants a dynamic sales career within an open, inclusive, and high-performing team.
What you will do
- Act as the main contact for customers across Suffolk and nearby areas, spending part of your time travelling to meet them in person.
- Work closely with clients to understand their priorities, challenges, and business needs, then shape practical solutions that add value.
- Spot growth opportunities within your assigned portfolio and convert them into revenue.
- Create solid business plans designed to deliver and surpass sales and profit goals.
- Develop a strong understanding of customers, their markets, and the competitive landscape.
- Keep customer information accurate, current, and well maintained.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the business, including internal account managers, to help achieve commercial targets.
What the employer is looking for
The ideal candidate already has field sales experience with account management responsibilities and has worked toward KPIs and targets. A positive attitude toward change, a solutions-focused mindset, and the ability to think strategically are important. Strong relationship-building ability, clear communication, and good interpersonal skills are also essential. Experience using Salesforce CRM or working in a B2B environment would be an advantage, and a full driving licence is required.
Rewards and benefits
- Annual performance bonus.
- Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
- Private healthcare.
- Health support allowance of £500 per year for ongoing conditions such as diabetes or asthma, covering monitoring and consultations.
- Support for neurodiverse employees and families, including assessment, diagnosis, and post-diagnostic help for autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, and Tourette’s syndrome.
- Support for women at different life stages, including fertility support, endometriosis care, and menopause monitoring.
- Inclusive healthcare support for trans and non-binary colleagues, including voice coaching, gender affirmation surgery such as facial surgery, and other medically necessary treatments.
- Expanded fertility cover, including IVF for lesbian couples, plus information and support around surrogacy and adoption.
