Role Description
As a Kennel Assistant, your main responsibility will be to care for boarding and daycare pets by providing proper feeding, exercise, and personalized attention ensuring their well-being and comfort during their stay. You will monitor animal behavior vigilantly and notify the medical team about any health irregularities promptly. Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards throughout the kennel and surrounding areas is essential. Additionally, managing inventory related to food and sanitation supplies and collaborating with coworkers to complete all operational duties will be part of your role.
Candidate Qualifications
- Genuine passion for animal welfare and dedicated care
- Dependable and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a busy setting
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Physical ability to lift more than 50 pounds and engage in active work duties
- Prior experience in a kennel assistant role preferred
- Availability to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage ranging from $14.40 to $15.00 based on experience
