Role Overview
We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Junior Web Developer to join our Creative Design Team. This entry-level position is suited for those passionate about front-end development, keen to grow their expertise within a fast-moving and creative environment. The role involves enhancing the user interface and experience on deVOL Kitchens' and Floors of Stone's websites, supporting ongoing maintenance, and assisting with the development of new functionalities across multiple international eCommerce sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance user interface and user experience on company websites to boost engagement and satisfaction.
- Maintain and update existing web code to uphold performance and security standards.
- Create new pages and features according to designs, ensuring responsiveness and accessibility.
- Support development of international eCommerce platforms to facilitate worldwide sales.
- Conduct testing for upcoming features to ensure flawless integration and operation.
- Collaborate with creative and technical teams to develop innovative web solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML and CSS.
- Familiarity with JavaScript and jQuery.
- Understanding of browser testing and debugging.
- Experience using version control tools such as Git is a plus.
- Knowledge of Shopify platform highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving abilities combined with effective communication skills.
- Keen willingness to learn and proactive teamwork mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers a competitive initial salary of £27,000 per year, reflective of experience. The company also provides extensive training in the first year along with regular performance reviews for career development.
