Job description
About the company
VBET is a sports betting and gaming business with two decades of industry experience. The platform is built and operated in-house by Bet Construct, backed by more than 10 licenses and active in over 120 countries. Its goal is to provide customers with a secure, reliable, and high-quality betting and gaming experience.
About the role
The Trader (Bookmaker) will be responsible for creating, updating, and overseeing betting odds across different sports and events. The position focuses on keeping the market attractive while protecting profitability, with constant attention to live betting activity, market changes, exposure levels, and risk control.
Work schedule
This role follows a rotating shift pattern that includes morning and evening shifts: 10:00 to 18:00 and 18:00 to 02:00.
Key responsibilities
The trader will compile and manage odds using statistical input, market movements, and competitor pricing. The role also includes monitoring sportsbook functions, tracking live/in-play events, reacting to suspicious betting behavior, and applying measures to reduce financial exposure. In addition, the job requires staying informed about match updates, injuries, team news, and other factors that can influence pricing. The trader will also analyze customer activity to identify sharp bettors or syndicates, coordinate with risk, sportsbook, and related teams, and ensure work complies with regulatory standards and responsible gambling requirements.
Required profile
A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a similar discipline is preferred, though it is not strictly mandatory. Prior experience in sports betting, trading, or a financial trading setting is strongly valued. The ideal candidate should have strong numerical reasoning, excellent attention to detail, solid knowledge of sports and betting markets, and the ability to make fast, accurate decisions under pressure. Clear communication skills, a collaborative approach, and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and other irregular hours based on the sports calendar are also important.
Preferred background
Additional advantage will be given to candidates with experience in sportsbook operations or financial trading, familiarity with automated odds-setting tools, and knowledge of betting regulations across different jurisdictions.
Perks and benefits
The company offers a salary aligned with experience, family health insurance, corporate social activities and parties, 4 paid days off each year, learning and development opportunities, and transportation support.
Work location
This is an onsite position based in Yerevan, Armenia, at Caucasus Complex, 122 Gevorg Chaush St., adjacent to the Vahakni residential community and near the Ashtarak highway.
