Role overview
The European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights AISBL is offering a remote internship for a Policy Researcher / Junior Researcher. This opportunity is intended for people who want to build practical skills in policy research, human rights, governance, international relations, law, public policy, and related areas.
The internship runs for 8 weeks and includes guided supervision. Participants will strengthen their abilities in research, analytical writing, and policy drafting while working on a topic approved by the organisation.
What you will do
- Carry out a literature review on an approved topic linked to policy, law, human rights, governance, or international relations.
- Write research summaries, issue notes, and analytical briefs.
- Join online supervision or mentoring sessions when arranged.
- Develop a research paper, policy brief, or analytical report with oversight.
- Improve written drafts based on feedback and research expectations.
- Deliver assigned work on time in a remote setting.
- Adhere to standards for ethics, citation, originality, and academic integrity.
Who can apply
This internship is open to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as recent graduates, alumni, and early-career professionals with an interest in research and policy analysis.
Applicants may come from law, human rights, international relations, political science, public policy, governance, social sciences, management, business, economics, education, environmental studies, medicine, engineering, or related fields.
Skills and suitability
Successful candidates should have strong written English, an interest in policy and research topics, the ability to work independently from a remote location, and the discipline to meet deadlines. Willingness to follow research methods and supervisor input is also important.
Training and structure
No prior research publication experience is required. Selected participants will complete a 4-week methodology training phase followed by a 4-week research writing phase.
