Job description

About Sunday

Sunday builds small-format digital companions for a broad consumer audience, designed to transform idle time into meaningful interaction for millions of players around the world.

The company’s work centers on care, companionship, and empathy, creating approachable game worlds where users do more than solve puzzles — they help rescue friends. By pairing easy accessibility with strong emotional appeal, Sunday aims to shape the next generation of digital entertainment.

Work location

This role requires you to work on-site in Hamburg, Germany.

What you will do

  • Own the testing process for new game features in each release, from reviewing design documentation and planning tests to running checks and confirming fixes.
  • Track bugs throughout their lifecycle, record them in project and sprint tools, and work with developers to understand root causes and drive resolution with the relevant teams such as game design, art, and product.
  • Support regression testing and performance checks so new changes do not break existing functionality and the game continues to run well across different devices and hardware setups.
  • Keep internal feature and testing documentation current and accurate.
  • Help manage task priorities by understanding the importance of features and defects, and advise stakeholders on what should be addressed first.
  • Represent the user perspective by thinking through how players interact with current and upcoming features, and by offering feedback on how those features may influence one another.

Who you are

  • You bring at least 2 years of experience in quality assurance.
  • You take initiative and investigate problems proactively instead of waiting for direction.
  • You look beyond the immediate issue and consider the broader impact of a bug on players and delivery timelines.
  • You genuinely enjoy video games and have a sharp eye for polish and gameplay feel.
  • You are comfortable learning new tools and exploring the technical side of games when needed to diagnose issues.

Bonus experience

  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools.
  • Interest in AI and automation tools.
  • Basic scripting knowledge or familiarity with game engines.
  • Basic understanding of ad network functionality.
  • Prior experience in a startup or other fast-moving environment.

What Sunday offers

  • A chance to build real skills through ownership, fast feedback, and challenging work rather than standard training programs.
  • A hybrid work setup with three core office days and flexibility where it matters.
  • An office with an Alster lake view from the 5th floor, strong coffee, quality equipment, and plenty of snacks.
  • A collaborative culture with team events, game nights, and casual pizza runs.

You are expected to be available for on-site work in Hamburg, Germany.
