About the Role
Tech Consulting is looking to recruit ambitious and motivated Junior Data Scientists to become part of a dynamic consulting team. This full-time position, based onsite in Massachusetts, is well-suited for recent graduates or early-stage IT professionals passionate about data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and deriving data-driven insights to influence business decisions. Candidates must be willing to relocate, starting with a paid training program in Atlanta, GA, followed by travel or relocation for client assignments throughout the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, cleanse, and preprocess both structured and unstructured datasets for analysis.
- Apply machine learning techniques to develop and execute models addressing business challenges.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
- Create predictive models and assess their accuracy using statistical methodologies.
- Design and produce data visualizations and dashboards to convey results effectively.
- Work collaboratively with data engineers, software developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to implement data-driven solutions.
- Enhance machine learning models to improve scalability, precision, and efficiency.
- Adhere to software development best practices, including version control and Agile processes.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Data Science, IT, Software or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Artificial Intelligence.
- Between one and four years of professional experience in related fields like data science, analytics, software development, or machine learning.
- Proficient programming skills in Python, R, SQL, Java, or comparable languages.
- Strong foundation in statistics, probability, linear algebra, and fundamentals of machine learning.
- Experience with data processing libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Understanding of SQL, relational database systems, and data modeling principles.
- Exposure to cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or XGBoost is preferable but not mandatory.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Willingness to relocate to Atlanta for initial training and travel or relocate elsewhere in the US for client projects.
Preferred Skills and Experiences
- Prior internships, academic projects, or personal work involving data science, AI, machine learning, or predictive analytics.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
- Comfort using development environments such as Jupyter Notebook or Google Colab.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
