Job description
About fairjobz
fairjobz is a young startup that has quickly grown into a major recruitment partner for the grocery retail sector, working with more than 500 partners and a candidate pool of over 7,000 people. Its focus is on connecting candidates and employers in a fast, simple, and fair way through a technology-driven approach. The company is especially committed to AI-supported automation while keeping people at the center of every process. The team is continuing to expand and is looking for support to help scale this mission.
Your role
In this position, you will support candidates from the grocery retail industry from their first interaction with fairjobz through to successful placement and their start with partner companies such as REWE, Edeka, HIT, and others. The role requires empathy, strong planning skills, a solution-oriented mindset, and genuine enjoyment in working with people. As the main point of contact, you will help ensure each placement runs smoothly, personally, reliably, and successfully for both sides.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate matches between candidates and suitable employers and support the process of arranging introductions and negotiating fair conditions.
- Guide candidates throughout the full application journey, starting with the first contact on the platform and continuing until they are successfully hired by one of the many partner companies.
- Understand individual candidate preferences and needs, and help them present themselves effectively to potential employers.
- Maintain ongoing communication with both candidates and employers so that everyone stays informed at every stage.
- Collect internal and external feedback, identify opportunities to improve, and help refine the company’s processes.
- Work closely with internal teams, especially partner acquisition, to deliver fast and well-matched outcomes for candidates.
- Record all relevant information accurately in internal systems to keep workflows efficient and continuously improvable.
Profile
The ideal candidate is motivated by successful placements that benefit both candidates and partners. Strong communication, empathy, coordination skills, and solid organization are important, along with initiative, a practical mindset, and comfort using digital tools such as CRM and reporting systems. Team spirit, curiosity, and a willingness to keep learning are also essential. Very good German language skills are required for clear and confident communication.
Benefits
- Permanent employment with a fair base salary plus attractive bonus opportunities.
- Thorough onboarding and the chance to gain in-depth insight into recruitment while working closely with the full team, including management.
- A strong learning curve with room to grow into areas that fit your strengths, whether through specialization, added responsibility, or leadership.
- An open and honest culture built on trust, transparency, and teamwork rather than internal competition.
- Modern equipment, helpful tools, and streamlined processes.
- Flexible remote work combined with two in-office days per week at the Cologne office.
- Supportive colleagues and a positive work atmosphere where enjoyment at work matters.
