About the Role

We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst II to perform advanced technical tasks within a project team focused on Medicare claims tracking and medical review systems. The role involves gathering requirements, conducting systems analysis, and documenting procedures across a complex operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, document, and manage both business and functional requirements related to a large-scale Medicare claims tracking and reporting system.
  • Analyze workflows including claim selection, medical record requests, medical review, and error rate reporting within Medicare Fee-for-Service processes.
  • Support enhancement and maintenance of web portals and data reporting tools used by CMS, Medicare Administrative Contractors, and healthcare providers.
  • Translate business needs into clear system specifications for development and quality assurance teams.
  • Document requirements for role-based access controls and permissions across a multi-tenant web portal with up to 500 concurrent users at 150+ sites.
  • Assist in designing and maintaining reporting modules covering claim status, appeals, documentation tracking, feedback, and payment adjustments.
  • Coordinate data refresh schedules, reporting period updates, and system configuration changes.
  • Develop web-based training documentation and user support materials for both internal and external users.
  • Contribute to privacy and security documentation including Privacy Threshold Analyses, Privacy Impact Assessments, and System Security Plans to comply with CMS and HHS policy, FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, and CMS IS2P2 standards.
  • Track and manage remediation activities and Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) items.
  • Engage with CMS program staff, contractors, and technical teams through meetings, working sessions, and deliverable reviews.
  • Prepare and maintain contract deliverables such as status reports and security artifacts.
  • Support onboarding procedures like non-disclosure agreements and employee roster submissions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst role.
  • Strong familiarity with Medicare Claims operations.
  • Proficiency in applying analysis methodologies, principles, and techniques to identify solutions.
  • Experience in evaluating complex data and reporting results, including SQL skills.

Preferred Competencies

  • Hands-on experience with dot.net implementations.
  • Capability to develop data collection and recording criteria enabling verification and reproducibility of outcomes.
  • Experience with test script writing and software testing.

Terms and Additional Information

  • This is a contract position with W2 pay status.
  • Hourly pay rate is $28.
  • Contract duration extends up to 5 years.
  • Position is fully remote.
  • No C2C (Corp-to-Corp) arrangements allowed.
