The position of General Reporter at The Kerryman involves delivering local news content primarily focused on County Kerry through both print editions and the Irish Independent's digital platform. The appointed journalist will report to the Group Editor, collaborate closely with newsroom colleagues, and uphold the high standards of The Kerryman and Mediahuis Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce news stories as assigned by the editor, mainly covering County Kerry regional events and issues.
• Conduct interviews and write feature articles to a high professional standard.
• Act as a representative of The Kerryman at local events, festivals, and community gatherings.
• Collaborate closely with local photographers to enhance content quality.
• Edit materials thoroughly to meet stringent legal and quality standards prior to publication.
• Work alongside the editor to generate and develop innovative content ideas.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Proficient in using the CUE content management system after initial training.
• Comprehensive understanding of both digital and print media production.
• Possession of a valid, full, and clean driving licence.
