About the Role

Pilot Company is looking for a Janitorial Maintenance team member in Columbia, South Carolina. This role supports a busy travel-center environment where every day brings different tasks and guest interactions. The work is centered on keeping the site clean, safe, and welcoming for travelers, commuters, and professional drivers while contributing to a positive, team-oriented workplace.

The company also notes that employees may have opportunities to learn and grow into other positions across its travel centers and restaurants, depending on business needs and training availability.

Compensation

Pay starts between $11.85 and $17.25 per hour.

Benefits

Team members may receive weekly pay, a 15-cent fuel discount, free daily meals, low-cost health plans priced at $10 for full-time employees, paid time off, and family leave.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the store and surrounding areas clean and orderly at all times.
  • Clean showers and restroom areas to maintain a high standard of hygiene.
  • Wash, load, and unload towels used for shower services.
  • Handle basic repair and maintenance tasks throughout the store.
  • Collect trash and remove it from the travel center area.
  • Deliver strong guest service by helping maintain a well-kept facility.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with initiative.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and spend most of the day walking or standing.
  • Available for a flexible schedule that may include nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous experience in a similar job is preferred.
  • Helpful knowledge of industrial equipment and the ability to resolve minor issues.
