Position summary

This full-time janitor role pays $14 per hour and includes weekly pay. The job involves general cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas within one building or across multiple client locations. Daily tasks may vary based on client needs, so flexibility is important.

Key duties

• Keep floors in good condition by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming as needed.
• Use cleaning chemicals and powered equipment carefully to avoid damaging surfaces or property.
• Service restrooms, conference rooms, hallways, and entrance spaces by cleaning and monitoring them regularly.
• Remove waste and handle trash disposal properly, including use of a compactor for certain materials.
• Clean mirrors, glass panels, and windows with the proper supplies and tools.
• Perform spot cleaning on carpets and support shampooing and extraction work when required.
• Restock paper goods and hygiene supplies.
• Work according to the assigned housekeeping schedule.
• Operate heavier cleaning equipment from time to time, such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers.
• Take on other tasks as needed to meet the scope of work or customer expectations.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a high school diploma or an equivalent credential, or at least six months of experience in a janitorial role. The employer provides on-the-job training. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions well are important.

Preferred background

Prior experience in cleaning or custodial work is an advantage. Familiarity with commercial cleaning standards, floor care methods such as buffing and waxing, and experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance will be helpful.
