Job description

Role Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a partner organization associated with Haystack for an IT Support Specialist position. This role encompasses providing comprehensive Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support to users both locally and remotely across a variety of domains.

Key Duties

  • Deliver desktop support services at Tier 1 and 2 levels, handling multiple domains and catering to both local and remote users.
  • Manage user accounts by creating, updating, and deactivating them within Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to workstations, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Perform tasks involving workstation imaging, installation, system setup, as well as managing virtual machines.
  • Troubleshoot operating systems starting from Windows 10 upwards, along with the Microsoft Office application suite.
  • Assist users in managing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) tokens and become proficient with automated Help Desk management tools.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree with between 4 to 8 years of pertinent professional experience, or hold a Master’s degree accompanied by 2 to 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities coupled with effective organizational skills suitable for professional environments.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Be eligible and able to secure and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Have experience working with automated Help Desk platforms such as Microsoft System Center, Remedy, or ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with Citrix desktop virtualization environments and thin clients is advantageous.
