Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned IT Strategic Lead to spearhead a pivotal segment of an organisation-wide technology transformation initiative. In this hands-on leadership role, you will rapidly evaluate the current IT landscape, institute robust governance structures, and implement actionable enhancements to empower long-term organisational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead IT stabilization efforts by providing strategic guidance to strengthen and modernize the IT function.
• Design and deploy an IT operating model that clearly delineates strategic and operational accountabilities.
• Develop a technology roadmap aligning with organisational priorities and upcoming transformation projects, including a major ERP rollout.
• Establish IT governance frameworks encompassing project oversight, decision-making processes, and demand management.
• Analyze the existing technology environment to identify efficiency improvements, reduce technical debt, and optimise system performance.
• Enhance IT service delivery by introducing consistent procedures and best service management practices.
• Bolster cyber governance through comprehensive documentation, risk management, and compliance measures.
• Evaluate team competencies, highlight skill deficiencies, and propose workforce development and sourcing strategies.
• Foster strong collaborations with executive leadership, business units, and technology teams to facilitate effective organisational change.
• Create KPIs, governance documentation, and transition strategies to underpin subsequent IT transformation phases.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive senior IT leadership experience, ideally demonstrated through IT transformation projects, operating model redesign, or broad organisational change initiatives.
• Deep knowledge in IT strategy, governance, enterprise architecture, service delivery, and technology project execution.
• Proven aptitude for translating strategic objectives into practical, measurable results.
• Experience developing governance frameworks, demand management systems, and efficient operational methodologies.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, adept at influencing diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
• A collaborative and pragmatic leadership approach focused on capability building and sustainable improvements.
• Academic credentials in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related fields, or equivalent senior leadership track record.
• Professional certifications such as ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, or related credentials are highly valued.

Applicants must hold a valid Vulnerable People/Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check due to the nature of our work environment. This position is a six-term contract based on-site in Sydney, NSW.
