Role overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced IT Project Manager in Galway. The position is based onsite three days per week and offers a permanent, newly created leadership role within a growing project delivery function. The successful candidate will guide technology initiatives from planning through completion, while also helping shape team performance and capability.
The role carries a base salary of €60,000 to €70,000. It is suited to a professional with a background in regulated technology environments, IT governance, operational resilience, and compliance-focused delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Direct the planning, execution, and governance of IT initiatives spanning infrastructure, systems, and software.
- Oversee scope, budgets, schedules, risks, issues, and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serve as the main contact for senior client stakeholders and provide clear progress updates and recommendations.
- Guide and develop team members, with involvement in performance support and capability growth.
- Review project documentation and client outputs to ensure quality and consistency.
- Carry out technology assessments, gap analysis, and improvement reviews where needed.
- Contribute ideas to strengthen delivery methods, standards, and overall project practices.
- Assist with workforce planning and hiring as the team expands.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience delivering IT projects, including time spent leading teams or project resources.
- Working knowledge of the Central Bank of Ireland regulatory setting and frameworks such as DORA, NIS2, CBI Cross-Industry Guidance, or ISO 27001.
- A PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, or similar recognised project management qualification.
- A strong record of delivering technology work across both infrastructure and software environments.
- Confident stakeholder management abilities, including regular engagement with senior leaders.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Hands-on experience with project governance, risk management, and reporting.
Additional information
This is a brand-new permanent position. Experience in reg tech settings, IT GRC, cybersecurity, operational resilience, or related compliance frameworks is particularly important for success in the role.
Work arrangement
The role is based in Galway, County Galway, Ireland, with onsite attendance required three days each week.
Compensation
The base salary for this position is €60,000 to €70,000 per year.
