About the Role

Join Postworks as an IT Apprentice based in Northampton, working full-time for 37.5 hours per week. This Level 3 Apprenticeship offers a fixed-term contract aligned with the course duration and potential for permanent employment thereafter. You will support the IT infrastructure at Postworks, a growing hybrid mail company reinventing traditional mail services.

Responsibilities

Assist the IT team in maintaining efficient operation of company technology. Tasks include troubleshooting technical issues, setting up and decommissioning hardware, supporting network maintenance, and providing excellent first-line technical support both remotely and on-site. You'll develop hands-on experience working with devices, software, networks, and overall IT administration, playing a critical role in keeping teams connected and productive.

Skills Development & Apprenticeship Progression

On-the-job training combines practical work with an evening course at Bedford College, culminating in a Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification. Apprentices also have the opportunity to pursue CompTIA A+ certification, gaining industry-recognized credentials.

Candidate Profile

This is an ideal position for someone starting their IT career with strong curiosity about technology and problem-solving abilities. You should have GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 4/C or above), good communication skills, and a proactive attitude towards learning. Experience with Windows, Linux, or macOS, personal IT projects, or prior IT-related qualifications are advantages but not mandatory.
