Role Overview
The Issuing Settlement & Reconciliation Analyst is entrusted with executing daily reconciliation and settlement duties related to card issuing transactions. This role ensures accuracy in processing, timely handling of discrepancies, and adherence to operational policies, card scheme regulations, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily reconciliations of card transactions across issuing platforms, networks, and banking accounts.
- Handle and process settlement files from card schemes such as Visa, Mastercard, MADA.
- Investigate and resolve any mismatches, pending items, or settlement discrepancies promptly within established SLAs.
- Compile and verify settlement reports, including accounting entries and management information.
- Collaborate with internal departments, banks, card schemes, and transaction processors to resolve issues.
- Monitor chargebacks, financial adjustments, fees, and settlements connected to card schemes.
- Maintain compliance with operational guidelines, audit standards, and applicable regulations.
- Contribute to automation projects, streamline processes, and advance system functionality related to settlement and reconciliation operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of three years' experience in reconciliation and settlement functions.
- Background in the payments industry.
- Strong understanding of card issuing processes as well as reconciliation and settlement procedures.
- Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, and local payment scheme settlement schedules.
- Analytical mindset and solid problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and reconciliation software tools.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to consistently meet tight deadlines.
