Job Description
This role involves managing investment portfolios for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals across diverse asset classes such as unit trusts, equities, fixed income, FX, and structured products. The Investment Consultant is tasked with developing comprehensive investment strategies tailored to client risk profiles and aligned with the firm's market outlook. A key focus is maintaining robust governance and control to achieve financial objectives and departmental product penetration targets. Additionally, the consultant will provide training to relationship managers (RMs) and their teams to enhance their investment knowledge.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver investment solutions and manage portfolios for affluent clients from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines, and Greater China.
- Communicate Maybank's Chief Investment Office (CIO) perspective on long-term investment strategy, adapting advice based on current market conditions and individual client risk tolerance.
- Monitor daily macroeconomic trends and client portfolio performance, ensuring portfolios remain within agreed risk parameters established during client onboarding.
- Serve as a critical resource to drive business objectives and attract key clients.
- Support RMs in structuring client portfolios according to their risk appetite and provide recommendations for necessary adjustments.
- Expand Assets Under Management (AUM) through organic growth and strategic initiatives by offering superior client service and positively influencing portfolio expansion.
- Enhance RMs' understanding of investment landscapes, strategies, and products.
- Collaborate with RMs and internal subject matter experts to provide integrated client advice. Offer portfolio construction and rebalancing guidance to support RMs during significant client interactions, such as account openings, quarterly reviews, and major life events.
- Uphold compliance with regulatory requirements and internal departmental policies.
- Follow established workflows and meticulously document all client advisory activities.
- Execute all tasks in strict adherence to the existing audit, compliance, and regulatory frameworks to ensure a highly compliant client relationship portfolio.

Job Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, or Accountancy.
- Successfully passed the Capital Markets and Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) Modules 1A, 1B, 2A, and 2B examinations.
- Holding a professional designation like Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is advantageous.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the financial services sector, with at least 5 years specifically in investment advisory or related functions.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and work harmoniously within a team.
- A genuine enthusiasm for investments.
