Role Overview

The Mining & Metals Investment Banking team at NBCCM is recruiting an Investment Banking Analyst based in London to assist with deal execution and originating activities. This position suits candidates with prior full-time experience in investment banking, particularly in mining & metals or natural resources sectors. The Analyst will engage in intricate advisory and financing transactions, gaining substantive industry experience with increasing responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess corporate clients’ financial requirements by developing advanced financial models and undertaking valuation analyses.
• Assist deal teams with transactional structuring, and progressively handle advisory and financing mandates with growing accountability.
• Create presentations that support decision-making in clients’ capital management.
• Prepare marketing materials such as investor presentations, prospectuses, and related transaction documents.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis of companies and industry sectors.
• Support senior team members in executing deals and maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum one year’s experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, equity research, capital markets, or aligned disciplines.
• Preferred academic background includes undergraduate or graduate degrees in finance, accounting, economics, or engineering with strong scholastic achievement.
• Solid understanding of financial theory, accounting principles, and capital markets.
• Valued experience or knowledge in mining & metals or the natural resources industries.
• Proven expertise in financial modelling, especially building complex and dynamic models.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg and Capital IQ platforms is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude paired with a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills capable of establishing trusted professional relationships.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
