Job description

About the role

BlueScope is seeking an experienced Investigations Manager to join its Global Investigations Team. In this position, you will play a central part in identifying, examining and responding to serious workplace and corporate misconduct across a global business footprint. The role sits within BlueScope’s confidential reporting and investigation structure and requires independence, careful judgment and discretion when handling matters that may create legal, reputational or people-related risk.

This opportunity may be based in Melbourne or Singapore.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and coordinate complex investigations involving corporate wrongdoing such as fraud, bribery, corruption, conflicts of interest and significant policy violations.
  • Carry out structured, defensible investigations through forensic interviews and detailed review of records and supporting evidence.
  • Review, prioritise and action matters raised through the BlueScope Speak Up hotline.
  • Prepare concise, evidence-led investigation reports that can support disciplinary action, legal steps or remedial measures.
  • Partner with Legal, Risk, People and business leadership teams, including presenting findings to senior executives where required.
  • Assist with investigations spanning multiple countries, while managing jurisdictional and cultural differences.
  • Identify recurring patterns and root causes of misconduct to help strengthen wider risk controls.

What we’re looking for

  • Substantial background in sensitive investigations, ideally within government or large corporate environments.
  • Well-developed interviewing, evidence evaluation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to write clear, robust reports that can stand up to legal, regulatory or disciplinary review.
  • Sound knowledge of whistleblower protections, natural justice principles and evidentiary requirements.
  • Confidence working independently on sensitive matters, including those involving senior stakeholders.
  • Experience across multiple jurisdictions, with Australian and international exposure viewed favourably.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, accounting, business or a related field; CFE or a similar certification is considered an advantage.
  • A consultative approach, strong relationship-building ability and excellent communication skills.
