Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for keeping salon inventory accurate, organized, and well supplied so daily operations run without disruption. You will help ensure students and clients receive dependable service while supporting the growth of the campus.
Role summary
The position calls for a highly organized, detail-focused professional who can manage the full inventory cycle for salon products and supplies. This includes ordering, receiving, stocking, tracking, and reporting, along with helping maintain an efficient and well-run student salon.
Key responsibilities
- Track and maintain inventory for salon products, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Watch stock movement and plan replenishment so supplies stay available for student salon activities.
- Issue purchase orders to approved vendors and suppliers while balancing quality expectations and budget limits.
- Accept incoming deliveries, confirm item counts and accuracy, and complete the required paperwork.
- Perform routine stock checks to compare physical inventory with system records and fix any mismatches.
- Arrange shelves, cabinets, and storage spaces to make the best use of available room and keep items easy to find.
- Work with faculty and staff to understand the needs of students and clients.
- Partner with student salon teams to make sure needed supplies are available on time for services.
- Keep inventory records current and prepare reports when needed.
- Look for ways to reduce costs and improve inventory processes.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Prior inventory experience is preferred, especially in a salon, spa, or retail setting.
- Strong planning and organization abilities with close attention to detail.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills for working with students, staff, and vendors.
- Comfort using inventory tracking software or similar systems.
- Basic math ability for stock counts, calculations, and inventory analysis.
- Ability to stay productive in a busy environment and manage several tasks at once.
- Physical ability to lift and move salon products and supplies as needed.
