Role Overview

As an Inventory Coordinator based in Nairobi, Kenya, your primary responsibility is to ensure seamless coordination of goods flowing through production, warehousing, suppliers, and customer deliveries. This role demands sharp attention to inventory accuracy and strict operational discipline. Strong expertise in internal controls, compliance, and governance of processes is fundamental. You will proactively identify operational risks and maintain rigorous adherence to procedures while supporting both inbound and outbound logistics alongside warehouse efficiency and inventory management, ensuring full compliance with safety, quality, hygiene, food safety, and auditing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain precise inventory control and coordinate the effective movement of goods to uphold stock integrity and meet customer requirements.
  • Promote operational excellence by continuously improving warehouse processes and ensuring accurate inventory tracking.
  • Facilitate open communication and teamwork within warehouse and logistics units to guarantee smooth operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, food safety protocols, and audit readiness.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holder of a Diploma or Certificate in Inventory Management, Logistics & Supply Chain, Warehousing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of proven experience in inventory control systems, warehouse management, stock principles, logistics, and supply chain methodologies.
  • Minimum two years of experience managing teams or in leadership positions.
  • Proficient with ERP solutions, preferably Odoo, inventory management software, and advanced Excel skills for stock reconciliation, transaction audits, and reporting.
  • Deep knowledge of internal control measures, stock responsibility, audit criteria, and governance standards; capable of keeping accurate, verifiable records.
  • Demonstrated success in enforcing food safety, quality control, hygiene, and health and safety standards in warehouse and distribution environments.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately handle, authorize, verify, and record warehouse and logistics operations.
  • Good literacy and mathematical skills essential for report preparation, record maintenance, and precise data handling.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while strictly observing process discipline and control protocols.
  • Certification in forklift, reach truck, or narrow aisle truck operation is advantageous but not mandatory.
