Project Overview
An opportunity is available for an interior designer or hospitality designer to update the look and feel of a contemporary Italian restaurant in Bath, UK. The assignment is centered on improving the guest experience through a focused refresh, not a complete remodel. The desired result is a setting that feels warm, polished, and genuinely Italian in spirit, drawing inspiration from modern trattorias and Milanese aperitivo bars while avoiding cliché themed decor.
The selected designer will advise on the overall visual direction, including colour choices, wall treatments, lighting concepts, decorative accents, and styling ideas. The client will take responsibility for purchasing all materials and furnishings. This is a strong fit for professionals or students who want to strengthen their portfolio with a refined hospitality design project.
Key Deliverables
- Create a unified moodboard that captures the modern Italian design direction.
- Recommend a sophisticated colour scheme and suitable material options.
- Advise on wall finishes and lighting concepts that improve the restaurant atmosphere.
- Develop decor and styling suggestions that support the intended look and feel.
- Optionally prepare straightforward visual renders to help communicate the concept.
- Provide expert input to guide sourcing of materials and decorative items.
Requirements

- Ability to develop contemporary, elegant, and authentic design concepts.
- Experience creating moodboards and using basic rendering software.
