Role Overview
We are looking to recruit a creative and motivated Interior Design Intern for a six-month paid placement at our London Chelsea studio. This role offers recent graduates or final-year students an unparalleled opportunity to work within a fast-paced luxury residential design environment. You will support and learn from experienced designers, project managers, and contractors while engaging in every phase of the design process on live projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist design team throughout all project phases, from initial concept to final delivery
- Contribute to design presentations, mood boards, and client materials
- Create and update technical drawings and documentation
- Conduct research on materials, finishes, furniture, suppliers, and FF&E packages
- Support project coordination and day-to-day design administration tasks
- Join site visits, supplier meetings, and project review sessions
- Develop visual presentations using traditional techniques and AI design tools
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Interior Design or currently enrolled in such a degree (minimum 2:1 preferred)
- Strong aesthetic sense along with creative design skills
- Genuine passion for luxury residential interior environments
- Understanding of UK construction standards and specifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
- Effective communication and presentation capabilities
- Proactive, positive, and professional work attitude
Desirable Skills
- Freehand sketching and visual communication expertise
- Experience with 3ds Max, V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion, or related visualization software
- Knowledge of Revit software
- Familiarity with AI-enhanced design tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Midjourney
- Understanding FF&E sourcing and specification processes
- Awareness of current interior design trends, materials, and suppliers
