Instructional Systems Specialist - Speech Language Pathology

Overview

This role requires an Instructional Systems Specialist (ISS) specializing in Speech Language Pathology to support educators and leadership in educational settings. The specialist will coach educators both in-person and virtually, lead school-wide implementation plans, and enhance teaching practices in Speech Language Pathology environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver coaching and professional development to Speech Language Pathology educators and educational leaders through in-person and virtual sessions.
• Assist leadership teams with strategic planning for school-wide implementation, including professional development, integrating job-embedded learning, and scheduling considerations.
• Promote the ongoing professional improvement of teachers working within Speech Language Pathology learning contexts.
• Facilitate the application of Speech Language Pathology instruction across multiple student-centered domains including physical environment, academics, social-emotional learning, and daily routines.
• Advise teachers on using interpreted data to enhance instructional effectiveness.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and provide proof of citizenship.
• Must comply with a background suitability/fitness check including Tier 1 investigation with child care clearance due to working with minors.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service.
• Must be willing to sign transportation and mobility agreements and be available for worldwide duty rotations.
• Direct deposit of pay is mandatory.
• Completion of a two-year probationary period might be required.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from a U.S. regionally accredited university or an accepted equivalent.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) is mandatory.
• Preferred coursework includes learning theory, instructional design, educational psychology, training evaluation, instructional product development, and computer applications in education.
• Minimum five years specialized experience conducting assessments, implementing evidence-based interventions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting AAC systems in PK-12 educational settings.
• Preferred experience: leadership roles providing consultation, coaching, and technical assistance at district or higher levels, supporting evidence-based practices, analyzing outcomes, and knowledge of assistive technology and AAC implementation.

Additional Employment Conditions

• The role requires compliance with the Exceptional Family Member Program and status under the applicable Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) for overseas positions.
