Role overview
Bureau Veritas is looking for an experienced GRP/GRVE/GRE/RTRP Inspector to support inspection activities in the Doha Metropolitan Area. The position is focused on composite piping fabrication, installation, inspection, and testing across workshop and site environments. The right person will bring strong technical depth, familiarity with international codes, and the ability to present inspection results in a clear, professional manner.
Core duties
- Carry out inspections for GRP/FRP/RTRP fabrication, erection, and testing work in both shop and site locations.
- Check that activities meet the relevant international requirements, including ISO, ASTM, AWWA, and DEP standards.
- Compile detailed inspection records and share conclusions with stakeholders in a precise and professional way.
- Liaise with EPC contractors, third-party inspectors, and client representatives.
- Help ensure quality expectations are followed throughout fabrication, installation, and testing phases.
Education and experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent related field, is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of full-time experience in GRP/FRP/RTRP fabrication, erection, inspection, and testing is required.
- Experience must cover both workshop-based and site-based inspections.
Mandatory knowledge and certifications
- Previous work as a Third-Party Inspector or a client-approved inspector on the EPIC side is required.
- Solid understanding of composite manufacturing methods and the applicable technical standards is essential.
- Knowledge of ISO 14692 Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 (2017 edition) is required.
- Knowledge of AWWA C950 is required.
- Familiarity with relevant ASTM standards such as D1598, D1599, D2992, D2563, D2583, D2584, D3567, and related specifications is required.
- Knowledge of DEP 31.40.10.19 Gen is required.
- A valid training certificate aligned with ISO 14692 Part 4 (2017 edition), Annex C, is required.
