Role Summary

This position is for an experienced Civil Inspector on a major roads and infrastructure project in Dubai. The role combines field inspection and site supervision to confirm that works are carried out in line with project requirements, drawings, specifications, and health and safety expectations.

Key Duties

The selected candidate will be expected to coordinate closely with the Resident Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, contractor teams, and client representatives while tracking progress, quality, and compliance on site.

• Study and stay current with contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and any revisions issued during the project.
• Verify that the contractor follows the standards and conditions set out in the contract documentation.
• Keep daily records of the contractor’s manpower and equipment deployed on site.
• Carry out inspections and supervision tasks whenever directed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
• Maintain regular communication with the contractor to confirm proper use of resources, safety compliance, and equipment availability.
• Submit daily updates to the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer covering work orders, material deliveries, and inspection activities.
• Implement site instructions issued by the Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer.
• Apply project quality control measures and follow established quality procedures.
• Take site measurements and surveying checks as needed for pipe alignments and levels.
• Work with the client project manager during site visits, alongside the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
• Track contractor QA/QC activities and keep all associated records organized.
• Support the Assistant Resident Engineer and Resident Engineer with correspondence required under the contract and site conditions.
• Help resolve site issues quickly in coordination with the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
• Monitor startup, commissioning, and handover activities, while keeping milestone records updated.
• Maintain documentation for material tests and completed works.
• Carry out audit inspections to check compliance with contract documents and contractor-submitted plans.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering is required, along with a valid equivalency certificate. RTA approval is preferred.

Experience Requirements

The role calls for at least 8 years of experience in comparable projects, including a minimum of 5 years in the UAE. Prior UAE exposure is preferred, especially on infrastructure and roads assignments.
