About the Role

This position is for an experienced Civil Inspector to support a major roads and infrastructure project in Dubai. The role combines field inspection and supervision of civil works, with the main objective of confirming that construction activities follow the approved project specifications and contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and stay current with contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety requirements, including any revisions issued during the project.
  • Check that the contractor follows the standards and technical requirements set out in the contract.
  • Track the contractor’s daily manpower and equipment deployment.
  • Carry out site inspections and supervision tasks whenever directed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
  • Maintain regular communication with the contractor to confirm that resources, safety measures, and equipment are being properly managed on site.
  • Submit daily progress and inspection reports to the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer, including work orders, material deliveries, and inspection schedules.
  • Implement instructions issued by the Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer at site level.
  • Apply the project’s quality control procedures and ensure quality standards are consistently followed.
  • Perform site measurements and surveying checks as required for pipe alignments and level verification.
  • Coordinate with the client’s project manager during site inspections, together with the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
  • Monitor the contractor’s QA/QC activities and keep the related documentation up to date.
  • Support the Assistant Resident Engineer and Resident Engineer in drafting correspondence that aligns with contract requirements and site needs.
  • Work with the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer to quickly resolve issues identified at site.
  • Oversee startup, commissioning, and handover activities, while maintaining records of project milestones.
  • Keep records of material testing and completed works.
  • Conduct audit inspections to confirm compliance with contract documents and contractor-submitted plans.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering is required, along with a valid equivalency certificate.
  • RTA approval is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience on similar projects is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of UAE experience is required.
  • Previous work on comparable infrastructure and roads projects is important.
  • Experience in the UAE is preferred.
