About the Role
AECOM is seeking a renewable energy professional to contribute to major energy transition projects across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The role sits within a growing renewables team and involves technical project work supporting the generation, storage, transmission and distribution of energy.
You will work across a variety of assignments depending on your engineering background and project needs. The work may cover the full design journey, from early-stage feasibility through detailed design and site construction support.
Project Areas
- Onshore and offshore wind
- Solar photovoltaic (PV)
- Hydroelectric schemes, including run-of-river and pumped storage
- Grid connection works, including cable routing and substation civils
- Hydrogen production and storage
- Battery energy storage systems (BESS)
Clients range from major energy utilities to private developers. The work is intended to support impactful infrastructure that helps advance the clean energy transition.

Required Profile
The ideal candidate should have an engineering or closely related science/master’s qualification, along with design-focused experience. Exposure to the complete project design cycle, from concept to detailed design, is expected. Professional chartership or active progress toward it is preferred.
Experience in the energy sector is helpful but not essential. Strong interest in renewable energy and a willingness to develop within the field are also welcomed.
