Role Overview
The Industrial Electrician position based in Auckland is a full-time onsite role. Responsibilities include the installation, upkeep, and repair of electrical systems and machinery in industrial and commercial settings. Key daily activities involve interpreting electrical diagrams, performing wiring and cabling tasks, diagnosing system faults, executing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The role also entails documenting all work conducted, collaborating closely with engineers and technical staff, handling service requests promptly, supporting project executions, and contributing to ongoing system and process improvements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- In-depth understanding of electrical principles and adherence to safe electrical operating practices.
- Proficiency in performing maintenance, repair, and preventive upkeep for industrial electrical equipment.
- Exceptional skill in troubleshooting and diagnosing problems within complex electrical systems.
- Experience with electrical wiring, installations, and accurate interpretation of technical schematics.
- Possession of a relevant trade certification or completion of an electrician apprenticeship, along with current required registration or certification.
- Hands-on experience in industrial or commercial electrical environments, including familiarity with high-voltage or specialized electrical equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety rules, standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Capability to work effectively both independently and as a team member, with excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Valid driver's license and readiness to work onsite at multiple customer locations, including occasional after-hours assignments if necessary.
