Project Overview
This role is ideal for a skilled illustrator tasked with crafting a heartfelt children’s picture book through cinematic and painterly artwork. The project demands 26 full-color interior illustrations plus a cover, all formatted at 8.5” by 8.5”. The artistic style is to be warm and emotive, featuring realistic character proportions paired with gentle cinematic lighting to deeply connect with young audiences and their families. Artists will utilize detailed character sheets, scene descriptions, and visual references to ensure cohesion and narrative continuity throughout the book. Initial collaboration begins with a compensated test illustration to evaluate style compatibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce 26 vibrant interior illustrations and a cover in a cinematic, painterly style suited for children’s literature.
- Maintain consistency in characters and evoke emotional storytelling across all pieces.
- Work from comprehensive character sheets and scene briefs, alongside curated visual references.
- Prepare final artwork precisely in the 8.5” x 8.5” print-ready format.
- Complete a paid test piece as part of the talent selection process.
- Incorporate feedback and perform necessary revisions following agreed terms.
- Ensure all creations are original and explicitly non-AI-generated.
