Job Description

As an HVAC (Air Conditioning) Technician at Tivoli Hotels & Resorts, your main responsibilities will encompass the installation, servicing, and repairing of temperature regulation and air quality control systems throughout the hotel.

  • Maintain, repair, and provide technical care for the hotel's electrical and mechanical refrigeration systems including freezers, refrigerators, ice makers, fan coil units, and chillers.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all air conditioning and refrigeration systems within the premises.
  • Monitor the operational efficiency of refrigeration systems and their components.
  • Inspect and verify the functionality of door closing mechanisms on walk-in coolers and freezers, including seals and latches.
  • Maintain defrosting systems and the automation features of ice machines.
  • Address maintenance requests from various hotel departments as required.
  • Ensure regular cleaning of fan coil units and air handling unit filters.
  • Evaluate the performance of air conditioning and chilled water systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering team members to identify and resolve faults in air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including setup of system functions.
  • Enforce strict control measures to prevent the release of CFC gases into the atmosphere.
  • Conduct overhauls and major repairs on air conditioning and refrigeration equipment as needed.
  • Maintain adequate refrigeration oil levels and monitor associated major repairs.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering Storekeeper regarding the procurement of necessary parts.
  • Perform all tasks following national technical regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of formal training from a recognized technical or vocational institute is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year experience working within a hotel's engineering department is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints as well as electrical schematics is essential.
  • Experience working with VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) or VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) systems is considered an advantage.
