Role Overview
The Human Resources Specialist offers mid-level support across various HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and general administrative tasks. This position demands precision, confidentiality, and strong communication with staff, supervisors, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment activities such as job postings, applicant screening, and interview scheduling.
- Support hiring managers in assessing candidates and making selection decisions.
- Conduct onboarding procedures including orientation and processing necessary new hire documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
- Act as a primary contact for employee inquiries about policies, benefits, and HR processes.
- Handle employee concerns by documenting issues and escalating them to HR leadership when appropriate.
- Encourage positive employee relations and foster a respectful, compliant workplace atmosphere.
- Keep confidential personnel files and HR databases organized with precision.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies and federal/state employment laws.
- Prepare HR-related reports, data summaries, and requisite documentation.
- Assist in managing performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and corrective measures documentation.
- Provide support for benefits enrollment, eligibility tracking, and answer employee benefit questions.
- Coordinate with payroll to guarantee timely updates of employee status and corrections.
- Guide employees through benefit systems to enhance understanding of available programs.
- Support the planning and administration of employee training initiatives.
- Contribute to engagement activities, culture enhancement, and internal communications.
- Ensure consistent enforcement of company policies and workplace standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years experience in Human Resources or a similar administrative support position.
- Knowledgeable in HR legislation, compliance standards, and best practices.
- Experienced with HRIS platforms, applicant tracking software, and onboarding technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with a service-oriented approach.
- Well-organized, detail-focused, and adept at handling multiple concurrent tasks.
- Capable of managing confidential information with utmost professionalism and discretion.
- Proficient problem-solver utilizing sound judgment in decision-making processes.
- Effective collaborator working smoothly across departments and teams.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Comfortable operating various HR technology and digital employee management tools.
- A reliable HR professional who demonstrates discipline, follow through, and effective multitasking.
- Balances administrative precision with empathetic employee communication.
