Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Human Resources Executive to manage the HR operations of a transport company with 50 to 80 employees. This includes truck drivers, mechanics, other blue-collar workers, as well as office and operations staff. The role encompasses the entire employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, maintaining employee records, attendance and payroll coordination, and ensuring compliance with UAE Labour Law. A key responsibility is to maintain strict, fair, and consistent discipline management, especially with drivers regarding traffic fines and behavioral issues. The ideal candidate must be organized, confident working with a multicultural blue-collar workforce, visible in the yard, and capable of enforcing company policies firmly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for drivers, mechanics, operators, and office personnel, including job postings, screening, interviews, and hiring.
- Proactively source candidates through platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed to maintain a robust pipeline of qualified blue-collar workers.
- Validate driving licenses, certifications, experience, and references prior to driver hiring.
- Coordinate new employee onboarding, induction, and orientation processes; ensure documentation accuracy and recordkeeping.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for drivers, mechanics, and yard staff, maintaining a regular presence in operational areas.
- Collaborate closely with the Transport Manager and dispatch teams on attendance, availability, and conduct of drivers.
- Provide support for driver welfare including accommodation and transportation arrangements when needed.
- Strictly enforce disciplinary codes with consistency across the workforce.
- Monitor and manage traffic fines; apply salary deductions and penalties as per company policy and UAE Labour Law; issue formal warnings to repeat infractions.
- Conduct thorough investigations into misconduct, poor attitude, or substance abuse, taking decisive disciplinary actions including terminations compliant with UAE laws.
- Maintain a zero-tolerance stance on alcohol or substance use affecting safety-critical duties; coordinate testing or medical referrals as per policy.
- Administer disciplinary hearings, issue written warnings, and maintain detailed records to safeguard company interests.
- Keep comprehensive employee records both physical and digital, ensuring adherence to labor regulations.
- Monitor contract renewals, visa and driving license expirations in collaboration with PROs or external agencies.
- Manage attendance and leave records accurately using designated systems, handling sick leave, annual leave, and absences per policy.
- Prepare monthly inputs for payroll, including attendance, overtime, allowances, and deductions; coordinate with finance for prompt salary processing.
- Serve as the initial contact for employee grievances and disputes, handling conflicts assertively and promoting a positive work culture.
- Communicate effectively across a diverse workforce to support performance reviews and probation evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and revise HR policies including disciplinary protocols and driver conduct standards; recommend process enhancements and update internal communications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or closely related field.
- At least 3 to 5 years of comprehensive HR experience in UAE, preferably within transport, logistics, or operations-intensive industries.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience sourcing and recruiting via LinkedIn and Indeed.
- Proven ability managing drivers and blue-collar workforce HR functions.
- Strong knowledge of UAE Labour Law, especially disciplinary procedures, salary deductions, and terminations.
- Confident and firm professional disposition capable of managing difficult conversations and enforcing policies with consistency.
- Familiarity with attendance and timekeeping systems as well as payroll coordination.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
- Fluent English language skills; understanding of Hindi, Urdu, or Arabic advantageous for engaging with driver groups.
