About the Role
TrueLearn is hiring a strategic and practical Director of Human Resources to guide and expand the people function as the business enters its next growth stage. In this senior leadership position, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the broader leadership team to shape the company’s people infrastructure, talent strategy, and organizational capabilities. Your work will help support business expansion, improve organizational effectiveness, and strengthen employee engagement across a fully remote organization of more than 100 employees.
You will be accountable for leading the full spectrum of HR activities, including talent management, recruiting, organizational development, compensation, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and HR operations. A major part of the role will be creating scalable programs and processes such as talent assessment frameworks, onboarding, job architecture, compensation structures, performance management, and workforce planning.
As the company grows, you will also contribute to building out the HR operations team by hiring and managing a Business Office Manager who will support payroll administration, benefits coordination, compliance tasks, and other day-to-day HR functions.

- Manage and improve the HRIS platform, Paylocity, with a focus on data accuracy, reporting, and operational effectiveness.
- Supervise payroll, benefits administration, and HR compliance work in collaboration with the Business Office Manager and outside vendors.
- Apply HR metrics and reporting to support leadership decisions and workforce planning.
Employee Relations, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Advise managers and employees on employee relations issues, workplace concerns, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws, especially in a multi-state remote work environment.
