Overview
Jones Healthcare Group is hiring a Human Resources Coordinator to support a broad mix of HR activities within the Packaging Services Business Unit. This is a practical, hands-on position with strong emphasis on recruitment during hiring periods, along with onboarding, employee lifecycle support, HR administration, and assistance with HR programs that improve the colleague experience.
The day-to-day work will vary based on business needs. Alongside routine HR operations, the role also offers exposure to wider HR projects and initiatives, creating room to build knowledge and grow within the function.

Recruitment and new hire experience
- Run end-to-end hiring support for hourly plant and office roles, and assist with other recruitment needs as assigned.
- Draft job ads, review resumes, complete first-round screening and interviews, issue offer letters, and coordinate background verification.
- Ensure candidates receive a professional, positive experience from initial outreach through onboarding.
- Take part in job fairs and community hiring events to help attract talent.
- Organize onboarding and orientation activities for new employees.
- Arrange medical checks, benefits and retirement savings enrollment sessions, and onboarding paperwork.
- Keep onboarding resources and materials stocked and current so new hires have a smooth start.
Colleague experience and HR support
- Assist with engagement and recognition activities such as service awards, celebrations, and workplace events.
- Support HR communication efforts and annual training launches, including completion tracking and follow-up.
- Provide responsive daily support to colleagues and leaders, resolving questions directly or escalating when needed.
- Handle resignation and retirement administration, including paperwork, exit interviews, and coordination with Payroll and other teams.
HR operations and administration
- Keep colleague records and HR/HSE files accurate, secure, and confidential.
- Prepare HR documents, including performance-related correspondence and other employee communications.
- Contribute to HR and HSE projects, audits, process improvements, and other HR initiatives.
- Assist with disability claim coordination and return-to-work support in partnership with the Senior HR Business Partner.
- Manage external vendor relationships, including recruitment agencies and other service providers.
- Support employer branding materials, internal communication boards, and facility notices.
What you will bring
The successful candidate will have post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related discipline, along with at least 2 years of HR experience that includes direct recruitment and onboarding work. Experience in manufacturing, operations, or hourly workforce environments would be an advantage, as would exposure to HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
This role calls for strong organization, careful attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a busy environment. You should also bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a service-focused approach, confidence working with people at all levels, and professionalism when handling confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is required, along with familiarity with employment legislation such as the ESA and Human Rights Code.

Compensation and benefits
Salary for this position is between CAD 52,500 and CAD 65,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
