Role overview

Bon Appétit Management Company is looking to bring on a full-time Human Resources Assistant for an immediate start at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. This position supports the Human Resources Director with day-to-day personnel administration and payroll-related tasks.

Work schedule and location

The role is based at Spelman College, 350 Spelman Lane Southwest, Atlanta, GA 30314. Only online applications are being accepted. The schedule is full time, Monday through Friday, with hours that can vary. Additional scheduling details will be discussed during the interview.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $24.00 per hour.

What the role involves

  • Providing administrative support to the Human Resources Director across a range of employee matters.
  • Handling employee questions and service requests in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Managing new hire benefits enrollment.
  • Reviewing I-9 documents, completing I-9 forms, and tracking required updates.
  • Submitting online background investigation requests and helping coordinate employee screening checks.
  • Auditing payroll, benefits, and other HR processes, then suggesting corrections when needed.
  • Maintaining the HR spreadsheet with employee change requests and processing related paperwork.
  • Supporting employee termination processing.
  • Assisting with performance review paperwork preparation.
  • Helping with research assignments and special HR projects.
  • Supporting recruitment and interview coordination.
  • Managing employee discount coupon requests by contacting outside companies as directed.
  • Setting up meetings and interviews for the HR Manager.
  • Arranging conferences by booking hotels and/or restaurants.
  • Performing clerical work such as copying, faxing, filing, preparing letters, handling mail, and creating new employee files.
  • Carrying out other assigned duties as needed.

Experience and requirements

Candidates should have prior experience in human resources, recruiting, and customer service. Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite is required.
