Position Purpose

The Human Resources Assistant will support daily operations within the Human Resources department, including talent sourcing, interviewing, benefits and leave management, as well as ensuring adherence to company policies.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitor, document, and ensure compliance with mandatory and voluntary training programs, continuing education, and work-related assessments such as safety, anti-harassment, certifications, and licenses.
  • Recruit and interview candidates, assisting departmental managers to understand skill requirements and competencies for job openings.
  • Conduct background screenings and verify employee eligibility.
  • Facilitate new employee orientation sessions.
  • Maintain current job descriptions and recruitment documentation.
  • Coordinate benefits open enrollment and communications.
  • Keep employee records updated in compliance with legal standards.
  • Serve as a primary contact for employee inquiries and concerns, escalating complex issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Handle employment-related questions from applicants, staff, and supervisors professionally and confidentially.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Superior verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Strong organizational aptitude with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all duties.
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms; familiarity with Rippling is advantageous.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years' experience in an HR administrative capacity.

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods sitting at a desk while using a computer.
  • Capable of lifting loads up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to navigate all areas of the organization's facilities as needed.

Compensation

The salary for this position ranges from $52,000 to $57,000 annually.
