Role overview
Baker Construction is hiring a Human Resources Assistant to support core HR and benefits operations. This position focuses on benefits eligibility, HRIS updates, enrollment verification, packet preparation, and assisting new team members through orientation and onboarding paperwork. The role is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and may require travel up to 25%.
What you will do
- Support day-to-day HR clerical activities and related administrative tasks.
- Help manage benefits administration, including checking enrollment details and confirming eligibility.
- Prepare and distribute benefits enrollment packets to employees.
- Communicate benefits eligibility information to current employees and new hires.
- Conduct new hire orientations and collect, review, and process onboarding documents.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, productive, and effective workplace.
- Take part in training and certification activities as needed.
What the company is looking for
- A high school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and 2 to 3 years of related experience and/or training.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
