Job description
Role overview
A manufacturing business in Ohio is looking for a temporary HR & Talent Acquisition Coordinator to provide support to both the recruiting and benefits functions. This is a fully remote assignment, with Eastern Time Zone availability preferred, and the anticipated workload is about 40 hours per week. The role is expected to start immediately and run through December 30, with compensation of $28–35 per hour depending on experience.
This opportunity suits an organized HR professional who can comfortably balance recruitment coordination with benefits administration in a busy environment.

- Help identify suitable candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, and the applicant tracking system.
- Keep candidate details and hiring activity accurate and up to date in the ATS, specifically Workday.
- Assist recruiters with day-to-day hiring tasks as needed.
Benefits administration support
- Help manage U.S. and Canada benefits administration tasks, including invoice handling, self-bill invoices, COBRA checks, and pet insurance payroll rosters.
- Watch and respond to the benefits inbox, answering employee queries and escalating issues when required.
- Coordinate wellness program messages, scheduling, vendor agreements, and reimbursement processing.
- Handle tuition reimbursement submissions.
- Issue 401(k) new-hire communications.
- Support RRSP enrollments and terminations for Canada.
- Compile Carrot utilization reports for payroll.
- Process HSA and DCA funding requests for payroll.
- Assist with unemployment claims and National Medical Support Notices when needed.
Training and timeline
Training will be provided before the Benefits Manager begins maternity leave.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has prior exposure to talent acquisition, recruiting, HR, or benefits administration. Experience with candidate phone screens or initial interviews is preferred. The person should be highly organized, detail-focused, comfortable handling several priorities at once, and able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally. Strong Excel skills are required, and prior use of an HRIS or ATS is preferred. The role also requires confidence working independently in a remote setting.
