Role overview
This remote HR Specialist II position supports pre-hire HR operations on a contract basis for 6+ months. The role follows a first-shift schedule, with working hours depending on your time zone: 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM for EST-based candidates and 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM for CST-based candidates.
Key responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end pre-hire tasks such as offer letters, employment agreements, background and medical screening, and right-to-work checks.
- Respond to complex employee and candidate questions through case systems, phone support, chat, and HR platforms.
- Deliver accurate, timely work on sensitive items while meeting service-level and quality targets.
- Follow policy requirements, documentation standards, and audit expectations.
- Act as a subject matter expert and work with global partners, centers of excellence, and vendors to improve processes and automate workflows for a better pre-hire experience.
- Spot recurring issues or inefficiencies and contribute to improvement initiatives.
- Coach team members, develop and update training materials such as job aids, run training sessions, and help onboard new Pre-hire Services team members.
- Support AI-based initiatives and use data to improve service delivery.
- Assist with global HR projects.
- Provide additional HR support as needed.
Qualifications and experience
- An associate degree or a 2-year degree in Human Resources, or another relevant field, plus at least 2 years of experience in HR or a related area.
- At least 1 year of experience in pre-hire or onboarding work with a strong focus on customer service is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience using HR systems such as Workday and ServiceNow is preferred.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in telephony or case management is preferred, especially in high-volume support environments.
- Strong written and spoken English is required.
- Advanced problem-solving, issue-resolution, and decision-making ability.
- Interest in technology and automation, along with a basic understanding of AI tools.
- Strong attention to detail, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Intermediate analytical ability and Excel skills.
