Role Overview

We seek a driven and skilled HR & Recruiting Specialist to spearhead local hiring initiatives and assist with fundamental HR responsibilities within Prairie Band, LLC and its subsidiaries. This position involves managing end-to-end recruitment processes to build a strong local talent pool and secure outstanding candidates. Additionally, the role supports benefits administration and daily HR tasks to enhance the employee experience and ensure efficient HR operations aligned with applicable regulations and policies. The ideal candidate will be detail-focused, proactive, and able to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic, multi-company setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle for designated roles, focusing on local and regional staffing needs by collaborating with hiring managers for workforce planning.
  • Design and execute innovative recruitment strategies leveraging job boards, community outreach, educational institutions, and local partnerships to attract qualified applicants.
  • Screen candidates, conduct interviews, and recommend hires to streamline the selection process.
  • Coordinate interview schedules, maintain communication with candidates, and facilitate job offers.
  • Oversee job postings, applicant tracking, and pre-employment procedures such as background checks and drug screenings.
  • Build and sustain a strong candidate pipeline, especially for roles with high turnover risk, and represent the organization at career fairs and community events.
  • Support onboarding activities to ensure smooth integration of new hires, including managing documentation and partnering with managers to foster engagement.
  • Provide ongoing HR support to employees regarding policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee records using HR information and applicant tracking systems; assist with status changes, documentation, and performance management.
  • Contribute to policy updates, track compliance, and prepare HR reports to maintain adherence to laws and organizational standards.
  • Serve as backup for benefits administration, aiding with enrollments, changes, inquiries, open enrollment periods, and ensuring compliance with benefits processes.
  • Ensure all HR activities comply with federal, state, tribal laws, including Title 22 requirements.
  • Stay informed about HR and recruitment trends; propose process improvements and support policy development and implementation.
  • Participate in special HR projects and initiatives aimed at continuous organizational improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience considered.
  • At least four years of recruiting experience demonstrating strong sourcing and relationship management capabilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency at an intermediate or higher level in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; PowerPoint skills are advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational ability, attention to detail, and capacity to perform well under pressure in a multi-entity environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with high standards of confidentiality.
