About the Role

Ryanair, Europe's largest airline group, is seeking a motivated HR Officer to join its expanding team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the company's growth, aiming to operate over 800 aircraft and serve 300 million guests within the next decade. As a key member of the HR team, you will be the primary point of contact for over 27,000 aviation professionals across Ryanair's European network. You will manage a wide array of HR functions, from legal matters and contract drafting to day-to-day employee support. This position is ideal for a recent graduate looking for a challenging role in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, offering significant responsibility and early career development, akin to a HR Manager for over 1000 employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete HR operations for up to 1000+ employees in designated bases or regions.
  • Track employee absence and turnover rates to identify patterns and implement appropriate actions.
  • Provide comprehensive support and guidance to management at all organizational levels on HR-related issues, including general inquiries, grievances, disciplinary procedures, and legal case preparation.
  • Maintain HR databases, ensuring all employee records and the HR system are current and accurate.
  • Submit weekly reports to the HR Manager detailing HR activities and concerns within your area.
  • Administer contracts, payroll, and reference checks.
  • Apply a strong understanding of the business and HR models to address daily employee questions and make well-informed decisions.
  • Draft essential HR documentation, such as disciplinary letters, with precision and clarity.
  • Undertake and manage ad hoc HR projects as required.
  • Prepare documentation for local European litigation, as well as for the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) and Compliance and Enforcement (LC).
  • Travel throughout Europe to engage with employees on employment matters, conduct interviews, and participate in employee negotiations.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree in HR or Business is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting.
  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent command of both verbal and written communication.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines efficiently and effectively.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Benefits

  • A competitive remuneration package.
  • Access to discounted and unlimited travel to over 250 destinations.
  • Participation in a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme.
  • Death in Service Benefit, equivalent to twice your annual basic salary.
  • An annual leave allowance starting at 20 days, increasing to 22 days after one year and 25 days after three years of continuous employment.
  • An option to take up to 5 additional unpaid leave days annually.
  • Eligibility for the Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Exceptional opportunities for career advancement.

Additional Information

This role requires frequent travel across Europe to meet with employees, attend interviews, and handle negotiations. You will be entrusted with significant responsibility, expected to make daily decisions and resolve employee relations matters for a substantial number of employees.
