Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated HR Generalist with a focus on Payroll to join our energetic team. This vital position encompasses management of HRIS, payroll processing, benefits administration, and delivering extensive support to staff and leadership. The HR Generalist acts as a reliable advisor, ensuring data accuracy, compliance with labor laws, and enhancing workplace culture. The role covers the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to retention and separation, contributing significantly to the delivery of exceptional member service. The office location is Bedford, IN, with a hybrid work setup allowing 1-2 remote days weekly after initial onboarding, plus travel to service centers as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Preferred HR certification such as SHRM or HRCI.
- 3-5 years of solid experience in Human Resources, with strong knowledge of HR practices, employment legislation, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational expertise.
- Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, and benefits management systems.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with great attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Discretion in managing sensitive employee information.
- Competent with Microsoft Office suite.
- A proactive approach and eagerness for ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main contact for all HR queries, delivering timely, professional, and solution-driven support for employees and management.
- Accurately maintain HRIS data integrity and produce insightful workforce analytics and reports.
- Oversee payroll functions including timecard processing, adjustments, and bi-weekly payroll cycles in accordance with applicable laws.
- Manage employee benefits programs covering enrollments, modifications, compliance reporting, and budget tracking.
- Support recruitment activities through job postings, candidate screening, and onboarding, ensuring smooth new hire experiences.
- Advise employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, and compliance throughout the employee lifecycle stages.
- Help develop and promote employee engagement activities, reward programs, and company events to encourage a positive workplace culture.
- Remain informed of HR best practices, legal updates, and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and foster continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across teams to promote inclusivity, teamwork, and ongoing process improvements.
