Role Summary
This HR Generalist position is based near Denver, CO and follows a hybrid arrangement, with around two in-office days each week or additional on-site time when needed. Regular presence at the Denver headquarters is required to help support office operations. The role is part of the People Operations team, which supports about 200 employees across more than 25 U.S. states as well as international entities. Reporting to the Director of People Operations and Administration, the role spans employee relations, payroll and benefits support, hiring coordination, onboarding, and related administrative work. It also includes support for the finance team.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-focused, and genuinely interested in improving the employee experience. Success in this role requires ownership, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset in a fast-moving environment.
Employee Relations and People Operations
- Serve as a friendly, well-informed first contact for general HR questions and guide employees to the right resources or escalation path when needed.
- Support the Director of People Operations with employee relations matters, related records, and follow-up actions.
- Help deliver People Ops initiatives such as engagement activities, learning and development programs, policy rollouts, and training coordination.
- Update HR systems promptly and accurately for employee changes such as promotions, transfers, and manager changes.
- Review employee data regularly to keep HRIS records accurate, complete, and current.
- Help maintain internal HR documentation, including SOPs, wiki pages, and policy materials.
- Assist with offboarding steps such as system updates, access removal, and completion of required records.
- Maintain compliance files including I-9s, E-Verify records, and payroll/benefits documents, and help with multi-state compliance tasks such as labor law poster updates.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including basic invoice entry and invoice review.
Payroll and Benefits Support
- Support semi-monthly U.S. payroll processing by entering data, completing pre-processing checks, and verifying deductions.
- Offer backup coverage for payroll processing when needed.
- Assist with leave-of-absence administration, including timeline tracking, document coordination, and employee communication.
- Reconcile payroll reports, identify mismatches, and keep supporting records accurate.
- Help with new hire benefits enrollment, qualifying life event processing, and benefits steps related to terminations.
- Assist with benefits billing reconciliation, audit preparation, and open enrollment coordination.
Hiring Coordination and Recruiting Support
- Take ownership of hiring coordination after selection, including handoff from recruiting, offer packet preparation, and new hire paperwork completion.
- Manage onboarding for new hires, including system setup and orientation planning.
- Support recruiting work as needed, including candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, and occasional first-round interviews.
- Provide backup support for recruiting during busier strategic periods.
Location and Work Arrangement
This position must be based near the Denver, CO office and requires regular in-office attendance. The role offers hybrid work-from-home flexibility, with approximately two days per week in the office or additional on-site time as needed to support operations. Team members must live and work in the United States, excluding U.S. territories, and have reliable high-speed internet access.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary for this role is $62,000 to $68,000, depending on experience.
