What you will do
In this role, you will influence employee engagement, performance management, compensation, and employee relations across several client groups. You will work closely with the wider HR function and help shape a performance-oriented culture through coaching, mentoring, and support for leaders at every level.
- Learn business priorities and recommend policies, practices, and approaches that strengthen productivity and align HR support with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to attract, develop, retain, and engage high-potential and high-performing employees.
- Take a practical, hands-on approach to building strong employee engagement across the workforce.
- Support managers and executives with guidance on team leadership, talent decisions, and complex employee relations matters.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and help make ecobee an excellent place to work.
What you should bring
The ideal candidate has experience as a consultative HR Business Partner in a technology-driven environment and is confident handling multiple priorities in a scaling company. You should be highly organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable managing a busy workload while stepping in where needed.
Strong relationship-building skills are essential, as this role requires earning trust across all levels of the organization. You should also be effective at conflict resolution, comfortable advising leaders, and knowledgeable about HR legislation and regulations, with an added advantage if you have worked across several provinces.
Compensation and benefits
The Toronto-based salary range for this role is CAD 86,000 to CAD 108,000. Final pay will depend on factors such as relevant experience, skills, certifications, and location. In addition to base pay, the position is eligible for variable compensation, including short-term and long-term incentives.
The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; long-term disability; flexible spending and health savings accounts; accrued paid time off; paid holidays (10 in Ontario and 11 in British Columbia); and RRSP retirement benefits.

ecobee is committed to fair, equitable compensation and to creating an accessible workplace for Canadians with disabilities. The company provides policies and training related to human rights, accessibility, and accommodation, including training under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. If you require accommodation during the application process or later in your employment, you may contact the company for support.
