About the role
Etex is looking for an HR Business Partner to support its Fibre Cement division across the UK and Ireland. This position sits within an international sustainable construction business and reports to the Global Head of HR for Fibre Cement. The role is focused on enabling change, strengthening continuous improvement, and providing commercially minded HR guidance that supports both business results and people experience.
The UK & Ireland commercial team is located in Burton-on-Trent, while the Fibre Cement plant is based in Athy, Ireland. The role may be based in either Athy or Burton-on-Trent. If based in Athy, travel to the UK will be regular; if based in Burton-on-Trent, travel to Athy will be regular and more frequent.
What you will do
- Partner with senior leaders and site managers by coaching and advising them on people matters that improve performance and create business value.
- Act as a strategic HR partner to the senior leadership team, ensuring HR activity supports divisional goals, safety priorities, and company values.
- Provide trusted guidance to regional leadership on transformation, organisational effectiveness, and the employee journey from hire to exit.
- Strengthen labour and employee relations while keeping leadership informed with clear people data and metrics.
- Analyse workforce information to spot patterns, interpret trends, and turn findings into practical actions.
- Introduce effective HR policies, processes, systems, and practices that stay aligned with group and country initiatives, lifecycle timelines, and relevant laws.
What you need
- Strong commercial understanding and the ability to turn HR plans into measurable business outcomes.
- Previous experience working as an HR Business Partner, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Well-developed skills in business partnering, relationship management, and influencing stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of labour relations, including experience in unionised workplaces, plus a solid grasp of employment law in the UK and Ireland.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Experience in complex international organisations will be an advantage.
