Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness across common areas such as hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other assigned spaces.
- Remove linens from guest rooms and support guest room cleaning when needed.
- Follow safety instructions and material safety data sheet guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals.
- Move and arrange furniture, and dust or polish furniture, metal fixtures, and equipment.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using manual tools and powered cleaning equipment; vacuum rugs, carpets, upholstered items, and draperies.
- Gather soiled linens for laundering and restock linen supplies in the linen closet.
- Clean bathrooms and replenish necessary supplies.
- Restock guest rooms with towels and other amenities, and ensure the cleaning cart is properly supplied for the shift.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and window sills as needed.
- Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays, and remove trash and waste to the disposal area.
- Greet guests courteously and with a warm, helpful attitude.
- Be available for night, weekend, and holiday shifts when required.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Prior housekeeping experience is also preferred, along with strong attention to detail and some previous customer service experience.
