Where you'll work
Job description
About the role
As a Housekeeping Assistant with HC-One, your work will be guided by kindness, care, and careful attention to detail. You will help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents in dementia, nursing, residential, and specialist homes. The role is about more than cleanliness: it supports residents’ comfort, dignity, and day-to-day wellbeing.
What you will do
- Keep bedrooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces clean and tidy.
- Carry out cleaning duties according to schedules and instructions from the team lead.
- Use cleaning products safely and follow hygiene processes at all times.
- Support infection prevention and wider safety standards across the home.
- Assist with laundry tasks and linen handling.
- Flag any maintenance concerns, damage, or repair needs promptly.
You will be expected to take pride in your work, stay organised, and manage your time effectively while responding helpfully when extra support is needed.
What we are looking for
Previous housekeeping experience is useful, but not essential because full training will be provided. A positive attitude, respect for residents and visitors, and a kind, considerate manner are important. You should also be detail-focused, well organised, and comfortable working as part of a team.
Safeguarding and training
Safeguarding is a shared responsibility. You should be able to identify signs of possible abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond appropriately. All colleagues are required to complete safeguarding training relevant to their role and any additional related training. You must also know when to seek advice and how to escalate concerns if action is not taken.
