Role overview

This is a full-time, non-management housekeeping and laundry position based in Umm Al Qura, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on maintaining guest rooms and assigned areas to brand standards, supporting smooth daily housekeeping operations, and helping deliver a polished guest experience.

Key duties

  • Record the status of cleaned rooms on assignment sheets.
  • Complete checklists to track cleanliness and condition across assigned areas.
  • Fill out the housekeeping department paperwork required for the role.
  • Identify room assignments and determine the type of cleaning needed for each one.
  • Inspect guest rooms after they have been cleaned by room attendants.
  • Respond quickly to requests from guests and other departments.
  • Enter guest rooms following access procedures and confirm the room is vacant before entry.
  • Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, motivating, and developing employees by setting a strong example.
  • Perform other reasonable work duties requested by supervisors.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Keep uniform and personal appearance neat, clean, and professional.
  • Protect confidential company information and company assets.
  • Support teammates and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Work collaboratively toward shared team goals and quality assurance standards.
  • Move at the pace needed to respond to work situations, which may include walking, running, or jogging.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines to identify defects.
  • Use computers or point-of-sale systems to enter and locate work-related information.
  • Handle objects of different sizes and weights with strong fine motor coordination and hand-eye coordination.
  • Reach above shoulders and below the knees, including bending, twisting, crouching, and stretching.
  • Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
  • Travel across sloped, uneven, slippery surfaces, stairs, and service ramps.
  • Use manual dexterity continuously, often with both hands and fine motor skills.
  • Move, lift, carry, and place items weighing up to 55 pounds (24.75 kg) without assistance and more than 55 pounds with assistance.
  • Push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and related work equipment over uneven or inclined surfaces.
  • Read and interpret written documents visually.
  • Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for long periods or frequently throughout the entire shift.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others.

Desired qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent GED credential is preferred. At least 1 year of related work experience is required. Previous supervisory experience is not required, and no license or certification is needed.
